I came across these sheep on a red hot day while walking high up in the Cotswolds, they were sheltering from the sun in the shade of a really rough old hedge.  There were loads of them all along the hedge all posing for me.  I spent as much time sketching them as I could before I too succumbed to the heat, then came back to the studio and worked up this big watercolour painting 27x58"
